Changing this only affects wlan0. If the new network does not come up within 45 seconds the Pi rolls back on its own, and the original network stays configured as a fallback. The password is sent to the Pi and never stored in the app.

Separate from the “offline” badge on the device page — that one means the app has not had a reading recently. The Pi can be reachable here and still have no internet.
